Day One: When You Promised

Remember when you promised to love me

I remember how soft I felt when your words brushed passed my lips

The feeling was as gentle as your kiss

You made me feel like rose petalsDelicate with strong scents of essential aromas

A perfume you liked to smell

My smile brightened for you

Cheeks smeared in a rose pink

It was then I knew how I felt

But I’m not sure you made that promise for the love you found in me

You slithered in and twisted my words

My heart attached to the only things I have ever loved

Caught in a web of promises and dreams

Your hands parted and from them my heart slipped

You broke the promises you had no plans to keep

Then I remembered when you promised to love me
