Day Three: Over Too Soon

I contemplated on a choice for you but you never came through on your end

I held out my hand for you when you asked but you were hesitant to hold out your handI gave love to the idea of knowing you in ways I know no one had

I assumed you were afraid to share the sacred parts of what would make me love you

I waited for your heart to open

To shed my light on your darkness and feel the reflection enlighten me

I questioned myself about how much of me was enough

We could spend a lifetime feeling right and thinking wrong

The exchange would never change but the strain on the mind would tear our hearts apart
